Battery and motor

The X200 is the only model in Crown’s X-Series. Crown describes it as having the look of a traditional 125cc motorcycle with electric power. It has a 76.8 V, 40 Ah Lithium LFP battery, listed as 3 kW, and a brushless motor rated at 2,000 to 3,000 W, the most powerful motor outside the Raftaar Pro. The claims are a top speed of 60 to 70 km/h and a range of 100 to 120 km in eco mode, with four riding modes.

Charging

The 87.6 V 10 A charger needs about 4 hours for a full charge, the shortest charge time among the larger-battery models.

Size and practicality

Net weight is 96 kg and the load limit is 150 kg, so it can carry a pillion. Tyres are 2.50-18 at the front and 3.00-17 at the rear on alloy rims, a layout closer to a motorcycle than a scooter. Colours are red, black and green. Dimensions and seat height are not published.

Equipment

The X200 has front and rear disc brakes, a circular LED headlight with a halo ring, an LED tail light, front shocks and a smart digital display showing speed, battery level and gear status. The NFC unlock listed on the Performance Series models is not listed for the X200.

Warranty and price

Crown publishes the same warranty for all its electric bikes: Battery 4 years / 48,000 km; motor and controller 3 years / 36,000 km (repairable warranty); body parts 1 year / 12,000 km. Each period applies up to the stated distance, whichever comes first, and the motor and controller cover is a repairable warranty. Crown also lists financing through MCB Bank, Meezan Bank and Alfa Mall by Bank Alfalah, so ask your dealer for the current plans. The official price is Rs 315,000.

Things to check

Ask whether the X200 has any smart-key or NFC feature, since the website does not list one, and confirm that the alloy rims are tubeless or tubed. Also ask for dimensions, ground clearance and seat height, none of which are published, and check the quoted price, because one news article reported a lower launch price.

Which one to buy

In our opinion, the X200 is for riders who want an electric bike that looks like a 125cc commuter, with 18-inch and 17-inch wheels and disc brakes, rather than a step-through scooter. Its speed and range claims are similar to the Flash and Champion, and it costs Rs 30,000 more than both, so the extra money buys the motorcycle styling and a shorter charge time. Ask for a test ride to check how it feels at the 60 to 70 km/h top speed.
