Battery and performance

The Chery Q is a rear-wheel-drive electric car with a 42.7 kWh battery. The motor produces 90 kW (121 hp) and 111 Nm of torque. Chery claims a range of 400 km on the NEDC cycle, which is usually more optimistic than real-world driving. For fast charging, Chery says the battery goes from 30 to 80 percent in 16.5 minutes or less on a DC charger. The battery has an IP68 dust and water rating. Chery also supplies a free 7 kW home charger worth PKR 100,000 with early bookings, which makes home charging easier from day one.

Size and practicality

The Q has a 2,700 mm wheelbase and is 1,811 mm wide. Chery says the wheelbase is longer than most C-segment SUVs sold here, and that rear knee room is 152 mm. Ground clearance is 166 mm and the turning radius is 5.2 metres, which should help in tight city streets. Cargo space is 375 litres, growing to 1,450 litres with the rear seats folded. There is also a 70-litre powered front boot (frunk) that can hold up to 50 kg. Chery adds that the car has 38 storage spaces. The official page does not state the seating capacity or the car’s length and height.

Equipment and safety

Pakistan gets a single Premium variant. It has six airbags, 21 Level 2 driver-assist functions, a 540-degree camera system and automatic parking assist. Chery says 82 percent of the body is high-strength steel. Inside you get a 15.6-inch infotainment screen with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.88-inch digital cluster, and a 6+1 speaker system. Also included are a 50 W wireless charger, a 6-way power driver’s seat and a powered tailgate. The 17-inch alloy wheels and heated, folding, power-adjustable mirrors are also standard. Offline voice control is listed too.

Price, warranty and which one to buy

The official introductory price is PKR 5,554,000, with a booking amount of PKR 1,500,000. This is for early bookings only. The battery warranty is shown only as an image on the site, so we have not quoted it. In our opinion the Q is a strong choice for city drivers who can charge at home and want an EV with generous equipment at a lower price than the Tiggo range. If you often make long trips, the plug-in hybrid Tiggo models are likely a safer fit.
