The Shift 125cc uses a 123 cc four-stroke engine with a four-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate clutch. Road Prince does not publish horsepower or torque. The official figures are a fuel consumption of 45 km per litre and a top speed of 105 km/h, the highest in the brand’s basic commuter range. Starting is by kick and the drive is by chain.
The Shift measures 1,920 x 760 x 1,220 mm on a 1,209 mm wheelbase. Dry weight is 95 kg, the heaviest of the commuter models. The fuel tank is listed as 10 litres with a question mark on the official page, and engine oil capacity is 1,100 ml. Unlike the 70cc and 110cc bikes, it has a cradle-type frame rather than a backbone frame, which suits a bike with more power. Brakes are drums at both ends and both stands are fitted.
The listing gives a 12 V 3.5 Ah battery, a round 35/35 W headlight, a 5 W tail light, a yellow 10 W turn signal and a 23 W brake light. No self-start or disc brake is listed. It is offered in black and red.
The 1 October 2026 price table lists the 125 at Rs 167,000, which is Rs 42,000 above the Power Plus 110. Warranty terms could not be read on the official site.
In our opinion, the Shift suits riders who carry a pillion regularly or travel on roads where a stronger engine and a cradle frame add confidence. The 123 cc engine and the 105 km/h claim are the best in Road Prince’s basic range. At 95 kg dry it is also the heaviest, so a rider who values lightness should look at the smaller bikes.
The official page lists no self start, no disc brakes and no digital instruments, so it is a traditional 125 in specification. Ask about spare-parts availability near you, because a 125 is likely to be used for longer trips than a 70cc and breakdown support matters.
In our opinion, the Shift is the right pick for a rider who wants the highest claimed speed and the most robust frame in the cheap commuter class, and who is prepared to pay for it. Be aware that the economy claim of 45 km per litre is lower than the 110cc models, so running costs per kilometre will be a bit higher. If your daily trips are short and you value fuel economy, a 100cc or 110cc bike makes more sense.
