Engine and battery

The T1 is sold in Pakistan as the T1 i-DM, a plug-in hybrid. It pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with electric power and an 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. Launch coverage lists a combined output of 340 hp and 530 Nm. Jetour claims an electric range of about 100 km and a total range of up to 1,200 km. These are manufacturer claims, and the test cycle for the electric figure was not stated. The car has six drive modes: Sport, Economy, Standard, Snow, EV and HEV. Engine capacity, battery charging times and transmission type were not available on the pages we could read.

Size and practicality

The T1 is a five-seat crossover with a squared-off body that borrows its look from rugged SUVs. It is front-wheel drive, so it is better suited to city and highway driving than to heavy off-roading. Coverage compares it with compact SUVs such as the MG HS, Haval H6 PHEV, Jaecoo J7 and Omoda 7. We could not find official dimensions, wheelbase, ground clearance or boot space for the Pakistani version, so we have left them out rather than guess.

Equipment

Only one variant is sold. It comes with six airbags, Level 2 driver assistance, a 540-degree camera system and a 15.6-inch infotainment screen. The sound system has nine Sony speakers. A full feature list was not available from the official site for this model, so please check with a dealer for items like sunroof, seat adjustment and wireless charging.

Price, warranty and which one to buy

The official launch page lists an introductory price of PKR 10,799,000 ex-factory. Jetour first said the final price would depend on the government’s new auto policy, so the price may change. Bookings opened with a booking amount of PKR 2,000,000. We could not find published warranty terms. In our opinion, the T1 is worth considering for buyers who want plug-in hybrid running costs at a lower price than the Tiggo 8 or T2 hybrid. It is sold in only one version, so the main decision is whether you can charge at home and whether you prefer its boxy styling.
