MG U9 price in Pakistan starts from Rs 22,749,000, and it marks MG first entry into the diesel pickup segment in this country. The U9 was revealed at the Pakistan Auto Show in Karachi in November 2025, bookings opened with a booking amount of Rs 8,000,000, and the formal launch followed in January 2026. For buyers, the important point is that MG is not offering a basic work truck here. It is offering a large, premium dual-cab pickup aimed at buyers who want both utility and SUV-level comfort.
The U9 uses a 2.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 215 hp and 520 Nm of torque, paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 4×4 drivetrain with front and rear differential locks. Towing capacity is reported at 3,500 kg, and ground clearance is 220 mm. That combination suits long motorway trips, loaded driving and off-road use, while the automatic gearbox and multi-link style rear suspension focus, reported in overseas reviews, point towards a more comfortable ride than a traditional leaf-spring work pickup. Pakistan-specific payload figures vary by market in overseas reports, so payload is not stated as a Pakistan fact here.
Size is a major part of the appeal and also a practical limit. The U9 measures about 5,500 mm long and 1,874 mm high, with a 3,300 mm wheelbase and 20 inch alloy wheels. Width figures differ depending on whether mirrors are included, so only length, height and wheelbase are used as headline dimensions here. A vehicle of this size offers strong road presence and a roomy dual cab, but it will be harder to park in tight city areas and older residential streets than a smaller pickup. Buyers should test parking and turning in their own daily routes.
Inside, MG has focused on comfort and technology. Pakistan launch reports list an 8-way electric driver seat with lumbar support, heating, ventilation and massage functions, a 6-way electric passenger seat with heating, a 12.3 inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker JBL audio system, rear air conditioning vents, an electric tailgate, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers and a panoramic sunroof. Safety reports list 7 airbags, an advanced driver assistance suite and a 540 degree camera view in some summaries. Those comfort items are unusual in this price band for a diesel pickup, and they are the main reason the U9 is positioned as a lifestyle pickup rather than a fleet truck.
The second version is defined by one feature. The Explore Pro plus Smart Hatch Option costs Rs 1,200,000 more than the standard Explore Pro, at Rs 23,949,000, and it adds the Smart Hatch system, which folds the rear seats and lowers the rear glass and hatch into the cabin to extend the load area into the cabin. For most buyers that will be a convenience feature rather than a daily necessity, but for buyers who regularly carry long items, it is a genuinely useful difference. Whether it is worth the extra cost depends on how often that long-load use actually happens.
Against rivals, the U9 faces the Isuzu D-Max, the Toyota Hilux Revo and the BYD Shark 6, each with a different strength. The D-Max and Revo offer long-established pickup reputations and service networks, while the Shark 6 offers plug-in hybrid power. The U9 counters with a premium cabin, strong diesel torque and modern safety equipment, but it is new to the pickup segment, fully imported, and priced at a premium level. For buyers who want a comfortable, high-spec diesel pickup and accept the new-model position, it is a compelling option. For buyers who prioritise proven pickup resale and the widest workshop coverage, the established rivals deserve a direct comparison first.
The range is Rs 22,749,000 for the Explore Pro and Rs 23,949,000 for the Explore Pro plus Smart Hatch Option. Both prices are ex-factory, with the Rs 8,000,000 booking amount reported as non-refundable in launch reporting. Confirm the current MG model page and delivery terms before booking.
