The Premium Plus is the larger version of Metro’s three-wheeler. It has the same 800 W brushless DC motor and 76.8 V, 30 Ah lithium iron phosphate battery as the Premium, with a claimed top speed of up to 35 km/h and a claimed range of up to 100 km. Eco, Normal and Sport modes are available.
Charging takes 4 to 5 hours and electricity use is 2.5 units per charge, with up to 1,100 charge cycles. The battery and motor are covered for 24 months.
The Premium Plus measures 1,790 x 900 x 1,640 mm, which is wider and much taller than the Premium, with 120 mm of ground clearance and a 160 kg weight capacity. The height suggests a higher cabin or canopy layout, though the page does not describe it. Brakes are a front disc and a rear drum, and tyres are 10-inch tubeless (3.00-10, 6PR) on aluminium alloy rims. Colours are silver and beige.
Metro lists a reverse option, NFC, a remote control, an anti-theft alarm and an energy-monitoring meter, the same list as the Premium.
The official price is Rs 335,000, which is Rs 40,000 more than the Premium.
In our opinion, the Premium Plus suits a rider who wants a more spacious three-wheeler and does not mind the extra Rs 40,000. The larger body should give more room for passengers or goods, though the page does not state seating or load space beyond the 160 kg weight capacity.
Because the electrical specifications are identical to the Premium’s, the extra money buys a bigger body only. Ask the dealer to show what the extra size gives you, such as seating, storage or weather protection, and compare with the Premium before paying more.
