The T9 Sport comes with an NCF battery or an LFP battery. The NCF version has a 72 V, 27 Ah pack with a claimed range of up to 110 km. The LFP version has a 76.8 V, 30 Ah pack with a claimed range of up to 140 km. Both use a 1,000 to 1,600 W multi-mode motor with a top speed of up to 50 km/h.
The NCF takes 6 to 7 hours to charge and uses 2 units per charge, and the LFP takes 4 to 5 hours and uses 2.5 units. The NCF battery is covered for 24 months and the LFP for 36 months. The motor warranty is 24 months.
The T9 Sport measures 1,740 x 715 x 1,110 mm with 142 mm of ground clearance and a 160 kg weight capacity. It has a front disc brake, a rear drum brake and 10-inch tubeless 6PR tyres on iron alloy rims. Colours are black, silver and red.
Metro lists a reverse option, a side-stand sensor, an anti-theft alarm and, on the NCF version only, cruise control. It also has an energy-retrieving controller and an energy-monitoring meter.
The NCF version costs Rs 184,000 and the LFP version Rs 245,000, a gap of Rs 61,000. The NCF version is the lowest-priced Metro scooter with an alloy-rim 10-inch chassis and a 110 km claim.
In our opinion, the NCF T9 Sport at Rs 184,000 is the better buy for a budget rider, since it includes cruise control and a claimed 110 km range. The LFP adds 30 km of claimed range, faster charging and a longer battery warranty but loses cruise control and costs Rs 61,000 more. Test both for comfort before choosing.
