The US 70 is United’s entry-level commuter. Its engine is a 78 cc, 4-stroke, OHC, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit with an 8.1:1 compression ratio, paired with a 4-speed gearbox and a kick starter. The official page also lists a 12 V battery and 0.7 litres of engine oil. United’s official page does not publish power, torque or fuel economy figures, so we have left them out rather than quote unofficial numbers. Despite the “70” name, the displacement on the official page is 78 cc, so do not be confused if other sites quote 70 cc.
The fuel tank holds 8.5 litres. Tyres are 2.25-17 at the front and 2.50-17 at the rear, both 4PR, and both ends use mechanical drum brakes. There is no disc brake, ABS or CBS listed, so this is a basic machine built around low running costs. Overall dimensions, seat height, ground clearance and weight are not published on the official site, so check them at a dealer if you are very tall or short, or if you plan to carry a heavy load.
The official model menu shows three versions: Standard, Alloy Rim and Self Start. The Standard and Alloy Rim pages list identical mechanical specifications, and the alloy version simply swaps the wheels. The Self Start version appears in the menu but has no separate specification page, so we assume it uses the same engine with an electric starter added. Prices, taken from United’s circular effective 1 July 2025, are Rs 111,000 for the Standard, Rs 121,000 for the Alloy Rim and Rs 122,000 for the Self Start. The same circular lists an Alloy Rim and Self Start version at Rs 132,000, but the official site does not show it, so it is not included here.
No warranty terms are published on the model pages we reviewed. Ask your dealer for the current warranty period and what it covers before you pay.
This section is our opinion. If you ride daily in traffic, the Self Start is worth the extra Rs 11,000 over the Standard because you will not need to kick the bike over at every stop. The Alloy Rim costs Rs 10,000 more than the Standard and mainly changes the look, so choose it only if you prefer alloy wheels. If you want the lowest price and do not mind kick starting, the Standard is the sensible choice.
