Jaecoo J6 overview and our opinion
Battery and motors
The J6 comes with three battery and motor choices. The Comfort has a 49.9 kWh battery, 135 kW (about 181 hp) and 220 Nm, with a claimed NEDC range of 329 km. The Luxury has a 65.6 kWh battery with the same motor output and a claimed 426 km. The top Premium has a 69.7 kWh battery, 205 kW (279 hp) and 385 Nm, a claimed 418 km NEDC range (364 km WLTP) and a 0-100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds. The Comfort and Luxury take 10.5 seconds. Range numbers are manufacturer claims and real-world figures will be lower. An authorised dealer lists the Comfort and Luxury as rear-wheel drive and the Premium as all-wheel drive.
Size and practicality
All J6 trims are 4,406 mm long, 1,910 mm wide and 1,715 mm tall, on a 2,715 mm wheelbase, with 19-inch alloy wheels. The body is a boxy, upright design built from aluminium, which Jaecoo says is 30 percent more rigid. The tailgate is hands-free with a memory-adjustable opening angle. The official page does not list ground clearance, boot space or seating capacity.
Equipment
Safety kit includes dual front, side, curtain, driver knee and centre airbags. Driver assistance covers lane change assist, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic braking and lane departure prevention. Premium electric hidden door handles are fitted. The seats use faux leather with contrast stitching, and the top variant adds ventilated seats with memory settings. The official page lists an intelligent electric 4WD system with several drive modes, which applies to the all-wheel-drive trim. A full feature split between Comfort and Luxury was not available to us, so please confirm the details with a dealer.
Price, warranty and which one to buy
Prices from an authorised dealer are PKR 8,799,000 for the Comfort, PKR 9,899,000 for the Luxury and PKR 10,799,000 for the Premium. PakWheels shows a similar range of Rs 8.80 to 10.80 million. Jaecoo’s site shows a 6 year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8 year / 160,000 km battery warranty. In our opinion, the Luxury is the best fit for most buyers because it offers the longest claimed range for a lower price than the Premium. The Premium is the pick for anyone who wants strong acceleration and all-wheel drive, while the Comfort suits mostly short city trips.
